Kinder thru 5th Grade ONLY

December 17, 2021 10:24 am

Dear ASC Families,

I am more sorry than you may realize to say that we still do not have a qualified staff person to lead our k-5 after school program.

I did have a hopeful candidate I was working with, but she has been offered a job in San Francisco and may choose to relocate.

In the meantime, the search will continue!

We are truly grateful that you chose to share your children with us, and look forward to being with you all again as soon as possible.

Irving Kinder thru 5th Grade Care

December 08, 2021 10:07 pm

Dear ASC Families, The one thing that's always constant is change. As we are getting ready to head into winter break, we here at the ASC have some changes going on that may have an impact on you, so we wanted to let you know right away.
Due to some life changes among our staff, we are actively seeking another ELD approved childcare provider to join our team. As you can imagine, someone meeting these stringent credentials, as well as our own, is a diamond in the rough...worth the wait, but difficult to find.
At this time, if we are not able to find this gem of a person to join our team by December 17th, we will not be properly equipped to reopen in January. Our reopening would be delayed until we find a suitable candidate to join our team. We are truly sorry for the extra stress we know this uncertainty puts on you, and want to assure you we are actively and passionately doing all we can to avoid that outcome.
We feel, at this time, it is only right to give you time to look into other arrangements, should they be needed.
Please be assured we will keep you posted regularly! Feel free to reach out to discuss any questions or concerns you have.

Dear Irving Elementary School K-5 families,

At this time you may start submitting your current 2021/2022 enrollment forms.  Enrollment forms are available at Irving School or on our website.  You can submit them via email or by dropping them off at the school.

Right now, we will only be starting our k-5 AFTER school program. The before school program is still on hold until further notice.

Thank you again for your continued support and understanding.

Fall Update 9/21

September 22, 2021 12:22 am

Dear ASC Families,

We know that many of you have been waiting patiently for an update from us. At this time, the ASC is planning to open for preschool only, with a tentative start date of October 4th.

We are continuing to monitor the effect students' being back in the classrooms may have on the community transmission of the COVID-19 virus. In an effort to support the local school districts in limiting potential exposure points for children in school, we will NOT be offering services for school-aged children at this time. We hope that will change in the near future and will keep you informed as we make decisions. Thank you for your continued patience, flexibility and support!

Please don't hesitate to reach out to us if you have any questions or concerns you would like to discuss.

All enrolled preschool students need to have a confirmed schedule at this time.  Please email Kasey at kaseyw@theafterschoolclubeugene.com to confirm before 9/26/2021.  We currently have a wait list and we would like to notify them if we have a spot open up.

Kasey will reply to you confirming your enrollment and will send additional information for the program at that time.

We care deeply for the families we support.  We are doing our best, in this ever-changing situation we find ourselves in, to continue on with the quality care you have come to expect from us.

Amy, Kasey & Lori

Delayed Start Announcement

August 22, 2021 09:15 am

Dear ASC Families,

September is fast approaching, and we have been hard at work planning our reopening for the fall. We are happy to report that The After School Club was one of few daycare centers that has not had a single case of COVID-19 during the pandemic. Two of our top priorities have always been to keep your children safe, and make sure they have fun! We’re so happy we’ve been able to do that so far. While we know we can continue to give them a place to go to have plenty of fun, we are very concerned about how safe we can keep them from this virus.

Reliable authorities are reporting daily numbers of positive COVID-19 cases higher now than at the peak of the pandemic prior to a vaccination being available. Children are at an increased risk of infection due to the Delta variant. Hospitals, emergency rooms and doctor’s offices are overwhelmed.

Because of these things, we have decided to delay the start of all our programs, preschool and k-5, for the time being. We think the impact of the start of the school year on our community will be very telling about how contagious this virus is among children. So, the ASC is going to take a wait and see stance. We just do not feel confident that we have the staffing and resources needed to prevent or cope with an outbreak, if this variant is truly as contagious as it seems to be. This will give us time adjust and adhere to any health and safety regulations that come through in the next several weeks without inconveniencing families.

Although, we do not have an exact start date to give you at this time, we wanted to assure you that we are doing our best to keep up with information and are very focused on how and when we can move forward to provide the best and safe care for your children.

This was such a hard decision for us to make. We know you count on us, and we want to be reliable for you, but we just cannot risk the health and wellness of your children, your families or our staff.

All children currently enrolled for the fall will still have their place in the program when we reopen. We will keep you informed as we move forward. We will be reevaluating where we stand mid to late September.  Be sure to subscribe to the website and check our website, www.theafterschoolclubeugene.com, regularly as we will use that platform to update our families as a whole.

We hope we will see your student as soon as we can but we understand if you have to make a change before then for your family- but please keep us updated with your enrollment status. This is especially important for preschool because we have a wait list for this program.

We appreciate that you trust us to care for your amazing, precious children and we can’t wait to see them and watch them explore, learn and grow.

Please keep in touch with us and we will do our best to keep you informed as well.

Lori, Kasey and Amy

ASC Clean and Sanitize

January 29, 2020 10:18 am

The safety and well-being of your children will always be The After School Club’s primary concern. As we all know, this flu season has been life-altering for many in our community, and to members of The ASC family. We want to assure you that all precautions are being taken to ensure our environment is safe and healthy for your children.

We have many procedures in place to keeping things clean and sanitized.  Our daily, hourly and sometimes by-the-minute cleaning procedures are followed by all.  The children even help by cleaning all surfaces top to bottom with soap and water.  The teachers are all very diligent in keeping thing sanitized and disinfected regularly.

In addition to our regular cleaning procedures, we have enlisted the help of Germ Freak, a startup company based locally in Eugene.  This is an interview with the owner, Piper Stover.

What is Germ Freak?

“Germ Freak is an infection prevention service that utilizes an environmentally safe, non-toxic disinfecting agent known as PURTABS, manufactured by EvaClean. This agent is more stable than bleach, non-caustic and non-corrosive. It is EPA certified and proven to be effective in killing many pathogens, including Norovirus and Influenza. PURTABS are used in conjunction with the Protexus Electrostatic Sprayer for thorough application.”

What is the benefit of an electrostatic sprayer?

“Unlike normal spray bottle application, the Protexus sprayer creates, essentially, static cling, so the disinfecting agent is drawn to all surfaces it is sprayed on. This allows for 360 degree application in one quick pass over an area or object.”

Does this service provide a guarantee that my child will not get sick?

“Unfortunately, with communicable disease, there are no guarantees. However, PURTABS, applied by means of the Protexus sprayer, can eliminate up to 99.999% of pathogens on a treated surface. The goal is to limit potential exposure as much as possible. Germ Freak’s service, in conjunction with careful adherence to outbreak prevention recommendations made by the CDC, create a marked defense against disease. Please don’t take my word for it.

You can read case studies and research results at EvaClean.com.”

“Each year, thousands lose their lives or loved ones to the flu. Those numbers are staggering, but those are not just numbers. Those are people, loved and cherished...and now missed. I started this company to try to protect people from that kind of heartbreak, because even a little bit of effort just might save a life.”

The After School Club will continue to utilize Germ Freak on a regular basis through this flu season, and on a maintenance plan moving forward.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me anytime. Piper also invites anyone with questions to reach out to her at germfreakservices@gmail.com.

Posted on our parent information board is further information about EvaClean PURTABS and their usage in an early childhood development setting.
